First; I'm telling you, I lost the draft I first started, and I started over again. (Bummer!) Anyway; My name is Keith, a nubian blogster, testing out the waters of the blogosphere; " Toe first".
And I got to tell you, starting out is harder than Chinese Arithmetic. I'm going to take it slow because frankly; I just don't know what the (@#&%&@@!!)I'm doing. Please, excuse the language; part of the plan is to go slow. But I expect this of myself.
I wouldn't be fooling anyone being new and all. I'm not ashamed to ask for help and I mean to remain honest in all that I do. I'm working slowly and if I loose my balance I won't fall far. I won't be so devastated either, and my pride migth remain intact, (Just don't breath on it) if I'm fortunate enough I'll only suffer minimal damage, and still come out with flying colors. I hope!
I'm from Columbus Ohio. Was raised and grew up here; married and had three beautiful children,"were children"use to be children Felicia, Mysaiah, and La-Monica.
I decided to go into affiliate marketing for reasons some clear to me; mainly for all the publicity it was getting coupled with an urge to "Just do it" and a go for it attitude! And I had a lot of wasted time on my hands just watching Tv, doing nothing. Other reasons may become more evident.
This affiliate marketing thing is something I tried some years ago and had failed miserably. Never got this far before; didn't even get a launch code; Well; so here I'am again; on the launch pad, having this blank stare look on my face. Looking out the window and wondering, "could this be the day that history will be made". "Do I have the right stuff"," Is this what men are made of. No! That isn't what I'm thinking at all. Probably what I should be thinking.
(At, (T-) minus one) I'm entertaining the thought of aborting the mission(that's terrible). Do we have a countdown sequence mission contrl. Ok!! So what, the count hasn't even started yet! "Gosh", give me a break !!!
I spent twenty years in the Air Force," Honorable Discharged"; I worked for the US Postal service for seven years and supervised four. Then I developed heart trouble, and had two surgeries. (I thought from stress). So I quit my job, ( major bad move )and have not worked since. Now you know why I said I have some time on my hands. I wanted to try this blogging thing, but I'm not sure if, this is it. I mean;" blogging", It doesn't really seem to be that sit-back-take-it-easy type of job at all!! But, who cares.
Must be more careful. Anyway; I started work around the age of ten, working with my dad and his best friend. Construction was the trade. I labored, did all the grunt work, it was OK . $70 to $100. bucks a week was good cheese at that age. We worked huge basements, that used 12" CMU's (Cement Measuring Unit). These are heavy. And 12" termites used for all the outside wall caps, these were solid and much heavier. You get a good workout after carrying 3000 to 4000 of these. Good thing, the majority of the basements we worked on used 8" in block. These basements didn't need the load bearing requirement as the others. And Oh what a relief that was.
So, I worked with my dad building basements, chimneys, fronts, patios, concrete steps and chimney harths until I was around twenty, ish. I graduated High School; actually I went to two High Schools. The latter was Vocational (Commercial Arts class). Not long after graduation.
I joined the Air Force, and at that time, Jesus found me. I learned a lot about military disciplines that I already knew that I didn't have. Why then, did they have to keep telling me that. Just didn't have or like it. And after my TI (technical Instructor) seperated me from all the bad habits and attitudes that he made clear I had. Completely unorthodox, extremely rude in the way he told me. I don't care; I didn't know then, but I know now. He was right, I did have a bad attitude. That revelation blew my mind. There in Lackland TX for 18 weeks, where most recruits were tramatised out of their senses, broken and put back together, together again. After basic training was over; Me and my family flew to GAFB Ca. and lived there for four years; it was great. My first perminent duty assignment, George Air Force Base. This is where I started training in the Structural Career Field.
From California, back across the US to Dove AFB Delaware Maryland; maybe you've been there; wonderful beaches from one end of the state to the other. I often went out treasure hunting on Lewis beach with a metal detector. It was said that; after storms, you could find gold deblums washed up on the beach (I never found any). It was four years of wonderful times. Here I worked in Carpentry, Masonry and roofing, and also did I fell to mention. I love to travel. From Delaware back across the U.S. (driving of course).
Oakland Naval Ship yard, California. Where we shipped the car, and flew out of Angeles City, to the Pacific Isles of the Phillipians; Beautiful tropics, what a sight, out of this world, we where here for about three years and four months, I was really trying not to leave this place. It was beautiful and the people were friendly. And on my salary, we could afford, two maids, one yard boy, and a sew girl this came up to about $120.00 a month. Ok; Also, I ran the Roofing and Masonry shops. Well, we had to leave the Philippians, and a month after we left, Mount Penitubo erupted and the base was covered in volcanic ash. what about getting out in the neck of time.
Leaving the Philippians, we flew into England AFB La. I'm sorry; I just had great times in my whole twenty years of military career. Louisiana, was swamps, allegator, snakes,(I don't like spider's and snakes but that ain't what it takes .....) big snapper turtles, gumbo, and blackened catfish. I really don't have the time; I'm just going to leave you hanging. Also Desert Sheild was underway and most of England AFB had already deployed. I assumed, Structural Superintendant for a while. I also assumed, I would be leaving for Iraq.
Three years in Louisiana. Finally got the base of my choice, The base of choice, the one I kept on my dream sheet for nineteen years, Wright Patterson AFB, Fairfield county, Dayton Ohio. 90 miles from Columbus, Where I grew up with family and friends. I've been trying to get this location for years, but I guess you can say; they saved the best for last. And my hope is that my blogs will become something so I could possibly say, " I saved the best for last ".,
